About
Most of discover-feed was built through Devin sessions; this site tells that story — see the timeline.
This is the build log ofdiscover-feed, a personal "Discover-style" news reader: profiles with topics and sources, RSS/Atom and API ingestion, article clustering into stories, LLM-written briefs and reports, web-search enrichment, alerts, and a public API. The stack is Python 3.12, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy + SQLite, APScheduler, Jinja2 + HTMX + Tailwind, with a local OpenAI-compatible LLM (Qwen3.5 9B on llama.cpp).
Almost the entire application was written by Devin, a coding agent, across44 pull requests over 19 days — 43 merged for +76,335 / −5,396 lines. Each session was driven by a written spec: a context paragraph, numbered tasks, acceptance criteria and non-goals, ending with "open a PR and stop."
This site is itself a Devin session's output: Astro, static output, generated timeline from the repository's PR metadata, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Everything stated in a post traces to a merged PR (linked by number), a file in the repo, or the author's explicit notes. Nothing here publishes session transcripts, private addresses, or credentials — a leak scan runs in CI on every change toblog/.
Tone on purpose: candid engineering log, not marketing. Where something failed, the post says so and cites the fix.
